WHAT
IS
AUTISM?
Autism, or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), refers to a diverse group of conditions that are characterized by different degrees of difficulties in communication, repetitive behaviors, social interactions, and other similar traits. Other traits include unconventional patterns of activities and behaviors, such as transitioning between tasks, an unusual response to sensations, and an intense focus on details.

The autistic individual's ability and needs evolve over time. While some individuals with autism are capable of living independently, others may encounter severe disabilities that require continuous care and support over time. The impact on autism extends to education and employment, often creating barriers to opportunities. Moreover, societal attitudes, along with the level of support offered by the family and authorities, play a crucial role in shaping the quality of life for individuals with autism.

IN THE US, ACCORDING TO THE CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION (CDC), IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 1 IN 36 CHILDREN WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM.
ACCORDING TO THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION (WHO), IT IS ESTIMATED THAT 1 IN 100 CHILDREN WORLDWIDE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM

ETHAN
AN AUTISM STORY
I don’t know what happened to him”, said the Lin, Ethan’s head teacher at his primary school. Ethan was a brilliant and creative child, but locked by autism in silence. Everyday after school, while others are immersed in cheer and joy, Ethan was neglected, rejected and excluded both by others and his isolating reality.
He demanded to scream for help, but he can’t. The suffering in his brilliant mind was eating his soul away and leaving himself alone with emptiness. He was trapped by a suffocating cage that appeared to be invisible for him.
And that’s the reason why we came in. We push to transform our power of design and innovation to devote to millions of children the same as Ethan, who suffered from the eternal trap of autism. Together with Vision SCC and Design For Devotion, we will break their chains and reclaim a brighter future for them.
